No NitroKitty @ Pomona Today…

February 7, 2009

Fighting off inclement and wet weather here at the Winternationals, the NHRA tech dads have been furiously drying the track, and at 2:00 pm their work paid dividends. The desired result is one round of Pro Qualifying. With that being said, this leaves no time today for the exhibition passes by the NHRA Heritage Series Nitro Cars — including a certain McCain’s Bomb Squad Nitro Funny Car.

Look for the Heritage Nitro Cars to run tomorrow between the semi-final and final rounds of Pro Eliminations tomorrow (loosely 3 Pm or so…)

Attendance is down today: As one reader of this blog wrote, “I will not be earning my water survival badge at the LA County Aquatic Center today. Already got one or more. Have fun.”

Fair enough… but race fans and nitromaniacs should put away the rain gear and come see the McCain’s Bomb Squad ’73 Duster terrorize the Pomona 1/4 mile tomorrow.

(As we key this in, the first pair of NHRA Nitro Cars are pulling into the water box.)
